FMS 35 - Pocketful of Posies & Fun Flower

What a cute sketch design by the very talented Team Designer, Jennifer Timko over at the Freshly Made Sketches blog and I wanted to give a try. Great inspiration over there so go take a look and enjoy!

I've had bad luck with the internet and have only been able to use my ipad, which I can't figure out how to post using that. Therefore, missed out on being able to post recently, so decided to start with this sketch now that my internet is back up. Very fustrating, but the company believes it's now resolved completely. Well onto the actual card.......
Finally got to play around with some new stuff I've had such as the Marina Mist Pleated Ribbon which I got back from the Occasions Mini Catalog, but now retired. Also, used the DSP Pocketful of Posies which will be retiring at the end of May.

For the flower, I used Bigz L Die called Fun Flower than I spritz it with some water to crumple it up and unfolded to add a new twist to it. What do you think?

For the sentiment, I used the stamp set You're a Gem, which is also retiring, but yet so cute. Don't worry, you can still get it while supplies last. Also used Stampin Dimensionals to pop up the center and the small Oval Punch.

Last but not least, I finally got to use my new Edgelits Adorning Accents and happy to say it's in the new catalog coming June 1, 2012. Colors used were Marina Mist, So Saffron, Crumb Cake, and Early Espresso for the sentiment. Hope you enjoy!!

PPA134 Color Ch & PP94 Mother's Day - Field Flower

I wanted to try this color challenge over at the Pals Paper Arts, PPA134 and than I took a look over at The Paper Payers website to check out what they were having and it's a Mother's Day Theme #94 so I focused on both challenges to come up with the card below.

To start, I used the Finial Press embossing folder (now retiring) for the background of the card and when from there. Next, I grabbed So Saffron dsp and added some to the bottom along with Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon. Then I grabbed Baja Breeze to start the focal point.

For the focal point, I used the stamp set: Field Flowers which I was excited to try out along with the Stamp-a-ma-jig and was so happy that it worked out nicely. Calypso Coral ink was used for the flower along with Pear Pizzaz for the stem.

I will admit this card took forever, since I couldn't figure where I wanted to place my layers and kept adding and taking away every so often. I will stay this was quite the challenge for me, but it was a great challenge and happy how it turned out in the end, so one should never give up.

This stamp set comes with the perfect sentiment for this occassion, "With Love". It also has another sentiment which I used for the inside. Didn't take photo of the inside, sorry.

Almost forgot, I did use Stampin Dimensionals under the Baja Breeze focal point to pop up the flower and sentiment. This time around, I decided not to add any embellishments to leave it clean and simple. Hope you enjoy!! If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks!

Here is mine...
One of my favorite sets is being retired called: Messages for Mom. I just love the letters along with the sentiments the stamp set comes with. Also, one of my favorite DSP, Mocha Morning Speciality. This DSP has been used for so many occassions, so I may end up stocking up on it before they run out.

Here is a close up of the lettering, which I ended up cutting each one and adding Stampin Dimensionals under them to pop up the word "MOM".

I was so happy that I got this Bigz Die called: Flower Daisies #2, which I alternated between Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler cardstock. At the end, added basic rhinestones in the middle to complete this flower.

In the end, I couldn't resist but to add 3 small hearts along the side, easy to do when you use the small heart punch. My way of sending extra love to her.

For the sketch design, the Pals Paper Arts PPA133, designed by Margaret Moody came in very handy when thinking of what I wanted to make. For me, this was a terrific sketch to use and I hope my Mom enjoys.

FMS Challange 33 - Pocketful of Posies

I went looking for a sketch design and saw this cute one designed by Jen Mitchell over at the Freshly Made Sketches. You should see all of the beautiful creations done already. Click here to go directly to the challenge.
Here is mine below
Here is another DSP that I used, which is retiring called Pocketful of Posies. Very fun colors to work with, Always Artichoke, So Saffron, and Rich Razzleberry.

For the any shape on the sketch, I decided to create a rosette using the Lace Ribbon Punch which is also on the retired accessories list using Whisper White cardstock. Added just a little glitter to it before ataching it to the 2 3/8" Scallop Punch and 1 Basic Rhinestone for the center.

For the leaves, I used Lucky Limeade cardstock along with the Blossom Petal Punch.

Hope you enjoy!!

Mojo Monday 239 Messages for Mom & Flirtatious Speciality

Another week at Mojo Monday, MOJO239, with a sketch design by Julee Tilman. This week, two choices, either round or square.

It's been a awhile since I've been able to work on my favorite thing which is card making, but with full-time school, work, and raising a little one, now 7 months, it's been quite hectic. No excuse....I know, so I have several cards for this upcoming week so I'm excited....hope you are to.

Now back to the challenge, MOJO239. If you would like to joinclick here to go directly to the challenge. Here is my card below....

It's that time a year when Stampin Up is retiring several items getting ready for the new catalog coming up June 1, 2012.

Wow!!...a whole month earlier this year, but with that some of my favorites are going like this DSP called Flirtatious Specialty and the stamp set: Messages for Mom, but not to worry, there is still time to get these before they are gone or until supplies last, ends May 30, 2012.

Isn't this a cute stamp image? Perfect for several occassions and since I'm not sure yet what I'm going to use it for, I didn't include a sentiment yet on it. I'm thinking of a thank-you card for a good friend of mine, but may decide to use it as my Mother's Day Card as well.

When making this card, I've been experimenting with different color choices and noticed how well, Night of Navy goes with this color combination when I punched out a piece using the Decorative Label Punch for the bottom portion of this flower image.

Complete List of Supplies:
  • Stamp Set - Messages For Mom (118580) C (117016) W
  • Inks - Black Staz ON
  • Cardstock - Whisper White, Rose Red, Wisteria Wonder, Night of Navy
  • DSP - Flirtatious Speciality (122360)
  • Other- Stampin Dimensionals (104430),  Basic Pearls ( 119247), Watercolor Paper (122959)

Oh, Baby! It's time for the Pals Blog Hop! Today the Stampin' Pretty Pals are sharing some fabulous cards and projects for babies and children that we think you'll enjoy! Here is mine below:
This card is easy enough to re-create in a flash. I took the 1 3/8" circle punch and and combined several colors for either a baby boy and or baby girl and than took out my Circle Scissor Plus to cut out a 2 1/4" circle for the main attration.

Isn't he a cute baby bear? and the sentiment for the card is also part of the stamp set called: Bear Hugs. Last but not least added a few buttons to finish off the card. (4 1/2" square size)

Mojo Monday 234 - Twitterpated and Blossom Party

Another week at Mojo Monday, MOJO234, with a sketch design by Julee Tilman. This week, two choices, either round or square. I should call mine Mojo Sunday since its always appears to be the weekend already by the time my card is up. Either way, it's always fun to have a new sketch to work off of.

If you would like to joinclick here to go directly to the challenge. Here is my card below....
Still working with this gorgeous DSP called Twitterpated that has such a beautiful array of patterned paper and still available in the Mini Occassions Catalog through April 30, 2012.

Here is a close up of the sentiment in Early Espresso, one of my favorite colors to work with and used the Petite Pairs stamp set for the sentiment. The Modern Label punch was used to correct a boo boo per say behind the square mat with Blushing Bride and also added a nice color contrast.

As for the other color of cardstock that was used, it's another favorite color of mine, Marina Mist along with the Curly Label Punch.

As for the flower, the Blossom Party Die was used to create it. Fast and simple and always love to be able to layer it. Colors used were Riding Hood Red, DSP, and Blushing Bride.

Almost forgot, 1/2" Stitched Poly Ribbon in Pear Pizzazz was also added to give it a little more contrast along with Basic Pearls.
Hope you enjoy!!
