The Paper Players #73 - Color Challenge - Mover & Shapers along with Word Play

Love the Mover & Shapers Curly Label Die and finally had a chance to play with it for this challenge at The Paper Players which this week is a color challenge along with a Clean and Simple look. If you would like to join the fun click here to go directly to the challenge.

For this card, I used 2 different embossing folders, Strips for the top of the card and the Snow Burst for the bottom half of the inside card.

For the snowflakes on the top, I used the snowflake punch and than used Shimmer Paint to create the Silver in it and used one basic pearl for the center of each one.

Here is a close up picture of the middle of the card which shows better the sentiment. I  used the stamp set from Word Play and embossed it in Silver.

Since I love punches, I couldn't resist but to use the eyelet border punch for the top of the card which sits nicely over the snow burst embossing look that is on the inside of the card.

    Hope you enjoyed!!

Pals Blog Hop Nov 2011 - Beautiful Season, Curly Cute & Contempo Christmas

Welcome to the November Pals Hop! This month, we're featuring Winter, Christmas, and Hanukkah inspired cards and projects! Enjoy the hop and the amazing creations that the Pals have come up with.

You've likely hopped over from Nicole Watt at Impressions By Nicole  I'm stop number 9 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track!

This is a great month to start off Christmas Cards and with a baby now in the house, the focus was creating a couple of quick cards that can be done in less than 10 mins.

This first card is quite simple and fast to re-create
The christmas tree is an image from the new DSP, Frostwood Lodge along with the gridlines. I cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of DSP making sure to include the tree as my focus and matted it with a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cardstock in Real Red.

Before matting the DSP, I applied Dazzling Details to the tree and edges of the cardstock with a paint brush to add some shimmer to the card and used the embossing heat gun to dry it faster. The snowflake on the upper right hand side was punched using the snowflake punch along with Silver Glimmer Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Here is a close up of the Dazzling Details effect when added directly to the card.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Curly Cute along with Early Espresso ink, which is hard to capture this color with the camera. At the end, I added some basic rhinestones.

For the next card, I used the stamp set: Beautiful Season
Main base for the card is Old Olive (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") along with a 2" x 4 1/4" strip of DSP called Letters To Santa for the bottom portion.

Started with a 2 3/4" square in whisper white, stamped the image and sponged around the square using Soft Suede Ink. Used a blender pen to color the image and matted it to a 3" square in Cherry Cobbler. Stampin Dimensionals were added before matting to the main base.

For the middle, I cut a small strip of Early Espresso and added it to the Cherry Cobbler strip which I punched out using the scallop trim border punch. Added 5 Basic Pearls.

The sentiment is from the stamp set: Contempo Christmas and used Early Espresso ink, which is hard to capture this color on camera. Punched it out using the Decorative Label Punch and sponged around it with Soft Suede ink.

Also, had a chance to make this card glitter with the new Silver glimmer paper along with the Snowflake punch and a basic pearl.

Pals Blog Hop Oct 2011 - Thank-you card with Berry Blossoms and Punches

Welcome to the October Pals Hop! This month, we're featuring Thank You cards and Thanksgiving inspired projects! Enjoy the hop and the amazing creations that the Pals have come up with.

You've likely hopped over from Jennifer Takacs at My Stampin' Blog, I'm stop number 14 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for Thank you cards and Thanksgiving paper projects from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track!

Here is my "Thank-you card" using the DSP Berry Blossom.

Started the card by using the embossing folder Elegant Bouquet and Wisteria Wonder Cardstock. Than added a strip of Calypso Coral in the middle along with a strip of DSP Berry Blossoms.

Punches made this flower easy enough to do along with stampin dimensionals. Here I used the stamp set called With All My Heart in Soft Suede Ink and punched it out with the Fancy Flower Punch.

Than, I punched out a 2 3/8" scallop circle in Calypso Coral to mat behind it and 2 more 2 3/8" scallop circles in Lucky Limeade to mat behind that. Last but not least, I punched out the leaf from the Bird Builder Punch and used the Boho Blossom punch in Wisteria Wonder for the middle top flower.

Finally, I took the white uniball gel pen and added some white dots and dashes into the leaves and added a basic pearl to top the middle of the flower. My goal was to create a flower resembling the paper.

For the sentiment, I used the Decorative Label Punch along with the stamp set With All My Heart and Soft Suede Ink. Also sponged around it to give it make it stand out more. Hope you enjoy!!

Mojo Monday 209 - Delightful Decorations and Letters to Santa

Been super busy with the new arrival of my baby boy so apologize for not posting lately, but having alot of sleepness nights and trying to get acustom to having a little one. Please bare with me while I do my best to get a routine. He is quite a handful, but love him to death. Got this card done on Tuesday, but just now having time to post it up.

Once again, it's another weekly challenge at Mojo Monday with October Mojo Madness Contest MOJO209, sketch designed by Julee Tilman. The important thing is to have fun! Easy to join click here to go directly to the challenge. Here is my card below.

This was a fun sketch design and allowed me to get a head start for christmas by using the stamp set Delightful Decorations along with the DSP, Letters to Santa.

Fun new silver glitter paper made this card sparkle. The Modern Label Punch along with the Word Window Punch helped to add a little glamour to the sentiment. The stamp set used was Teeny Tiny Wishes along with Soft Suede ink.

For the ribbon, I used Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon and to get my Ornament to have some glitter, I used double sided sticky sheet to my stamped image and than added glitter to it.

Of course like always, I used stampin dimensionals to raise my ornament up and added some basic pearls to finish the card off.

Complete list of supplies:

  • Stamp Set - Delightful Decorations (116517)
  • Inks - Soft Suede (115657), Marina Mist (119668)
  • Cardstock - Whisper White, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink
  • DSP - Letter to Santa (122349)
  • Other- Stampin Dimensionals (104430), Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon (122331), Sticky Sheets (114300), Dazzling Diamonds (102023), Silver Glimmer Paper (124005)
