PPA105 - Color Challenge - Perfect Words

Another week at the Pals Paper Arts with this week being a color challenge. If you would like to join the fun click here to go directly to their website. It's quite easy, all you need to do is create a project using this week's color challenge and link it up to their website.

Here is mine

Tried to focus on a quick but easy card and at the same time wanted to get a quilted look that I've been seeing alot of. Therefore, I punched out 3 square using DSP Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, and Daffodil Delight and adhered them to the card first.

Next, I took the new embossing folder called Houndstooth and not only once but twice ran it through. First, facing up and than I turned it backwards and ran it through again.

I got an interesting result as you can see in the close up photo.

I added a punched out flower for the focal point using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, which I did not run through the embossing folder, but did use stampin dimensionals, so that it would pop out above the rest.

Added Basic Pearls on top of the squares and flower. Finally added, Pear Pizzazz ribbon (since I didn't have the new ribbon Lucky on my wish list)

Last but not least, added sentiment using Island Indigo with a new set: Perfect Words (hostess set)

Here is a tip......use a stronger adhesive when laying down cardstock that has been embossed through a folder for it to hold down alot better unless you use stampin dimensionals. In this case, I use sticky strip to hold down the main base (3 1/2" x 4").

Regular adhesive works, but stronger adhesive holds longer and keeps your project in place for a long time. Pin It

  1. I love the look of the houndstooth embossing! The pearls are the perfect touch! You did a great job with this challenging color trio!

  2. Great texture! And I love how your design fits the sentiment!

  3. isn't embossing fun?

I will be honored if you will add this project in our weekly linking party every Wednesdays at
    Have a great week,
