PPA185 - Happy Birthday with Music

The Pals Paper Arts is having a wonderful sketch challenge which ends today, PPA185 designed by Nicole Watt and a great way to start a New Year with another Birthday card.
    Here is my card:
Created this birthday card for someone who loves music and thought this DSP paper Modern Medley would be perfect especially with the "notes paper" and thought to add layers of different framelits to pop up the focal point.

Started off with the Window framelits in Cherry Cobbler as my base and than moved onto the Apothecary framelits in Whisper White and embossed using Pretty Print Texture Impressions. Next stamped an image from the set: Friendship Preserves using Cherry Cobbler ink and the Window framelits again to cut it out.

Last but not least cut a thin strip in black and cut the ends, stamped the sentiment from the set: Create A Cupcake and used the window punch. Also used my favorite Stampin Dimensionals to pop it up in between.

What do you think of today's card? Also, click here to go directly to the challenge if you haven't gone there yet, to check out the beautiful creations the design team created for this challenge. Have fun and Happy New Years Eve!!

PPA184 - Happy Holidays

The Pals Paper Arts is having a sketch challenge, PPA184  designed by the talented Margaret Moody which I found as a perfect opportunity to get one more Christmas card done and wish everyone "Happy Holidays".

Here is my card:
This is such a fun DSP paper, Winter Frost Speciality and one of my favorites as I'm sure might be one of yours. Here I used one of the newest color card stock, Smoky Slate and love how it pairs with Island Indigo. Easy to re-create by cutting 1" strips and laying them down onto a smaller piece of whisper white and trim off the excess.

Here I used the Deco Labels Framelits collection along with Merry Little Christmas stamp set, another favorite of mine. To add the stitch look, Island Indigo marker came to the rescue. Added some Stampin Dimensionals under the Labels and added some seam binding ribbon (Sofy Sky) along with a Very Vintage Designer Button.

What do you think of today's card? Don't forget to join the fun, click here to take you directly to the Pals Paper Arts Challenge.

"Happy Holidays"

PPA178 - Layered Labels

The Pals Paper Arts is having a color challenge, PPA178 which I wasnted to try so I combined it using a sketch created by Jen over at Deconstructing JenDS125. I must say I'm happy that the PPA challenge ends on Tuesday now versus Monday, so it gave me time to work on this card which was definitely a challenge, but I do enjoy challenges.

Here is my card
Here I used Summer Starfruit from the in-colors DSP pack along with some Early Espresso cardstock and DSP from the Sweater Weather. Next, I went to work on the center and I love layers so I played around with different framelits and combinations and got the following.

Started with the Deco Labels framelit in whisper white, than another deco label frame in Summer Starfruit, stamped the image (For You) from the stamp set: Layered Labels twice in Early Espresso and used the Apothecary framelit to help me cut it out. Last but not least used the oval punch to cut the center and pop it up using Stampin Dimensionals.

Added a flower using the Flower Shop stamp set and matching punch. Here I stamped directly onto the DSP. Colored in the words "For You" using Crisp Cantaloupe and yes I did punch out 2 flowers and layered them on top of one another for a layered look. Last but not least added some basic pearls for final touch.

MOJO318 - Christmas Collectibles

Another week at Mojo Monday MOJO318 designed by Julee Tilman and for me it's once again Sunday when I get a chance to create and post my MOJO for the week. Since it's the first Monday of the month, it's also contest week and a chance to win a Verve stamp set of your choice, so out come the paper and stamps to create a new card based on this cute sketch.

Here is my card below:
This time around I went with Cherry Cobbler and focused on doing a two tone color Christmas card. Actually, one color if you don't count white. This one is easy enough to re-create and fun to do using the Chalk Talk Framelits, Christmas Collectibles stamp set, matching ornament punch, and the Season of Style DSP paper stack.

Also, 3/4" Chevron Ribbon (Cherry Cobbler), 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, and Northern Flurry Embossing Folder.

The sentiment comes from the set: More Merry Messages and here I did use another color: Early Espresso. Also, the paper piercing tool along with the Essentials Pack to give the tag some details which add a nice touch.

For the finishing touches, I added some basic pearls, dazzling details, and Stampin Dimensionals to give it a 3D look. What do you think of today's card?

MOJO317 - Best of Christmas

Another week at Mojo Monday, MOJO317 designed by Julee Tilman . Last week I wasn't able to play so I wanted to make sure to get this week's sketch done since I love square cards and this sketch.
Here is my card:

Love this set: Best of Christmas along with this wonderful DSP called Winter Frost Specialty. Here I used Island Indigo, Whisper White, and Pool Party cardstock for the circles and mat and thought to add some glitter by using silver glitter paper as well.

Sentiment comes from the set: Petite Pairs and what better ink color to use, but Early Espresso. This card is easy to re-create and mail out. What do you think of today's card? Should there be some bling or the glitter paper is enough? Almost forgot, I used the Northern Flurry embossing folder to add some white snowflake in the background.

All of the products I used on today's card can be found on my Online Store or click on any of the products below to go directly there. Don't forget my customer rewards program.

MOJO315 & Merry Monday - Best of Christmas

Another week at Mojo Monday, MOJO315 designed by Julee Tilman which I normally post on Sunday, but got it done earlier to join Merry Monday#79 challenge over at Always Playing with Paper by Lesley Croghan. What a great way to get a jump start again on my Christmas cards. I've been wanting to play for quite awhile now and figured to join 2 challenges in one.

Here is my card based on this cute sketch:
When the Best of Christmas stamp set came out, it was on my order right away along with other items from the Holiday Catalog.

For the Merry Monday challenge: Snowflakes and Gray color came from the DSP called: Winter Frost Specialty. For the blue, I used Island Indigo ink and cardstock plus 1/2" Soft Sky Seam Binding Ribbon. Added some silver using Foil Sheets from the Holiday Catalog. I think that covers it all.

Don't want to forget, the button is from the Very Vintage Designer collection and added some dazzling details to give it some glitter effect. Ornament was punched out using the matching Christmas Ornament Punch and of course Stampin Dimensionals were used to pop up the ornament.

If you haven't stopped over at Mojo Monday yet, click here to go directly to the challenge and if you haven't stopped over at the Merry Monday challenge, click here. Have fun and let me know what do you think of today's card?
