FMS48 - World Treasures & Comfort Cafe

Design Team member Tui Nathan over at Freshly Made Sketches is the hostess for the week who created this cute sketch to play with. If you would like to join the fun, you can click here to go directly to the challenge.

It's been hard to play with any fun stuff lately from the heat we have been having everyday and no A/C, so every time I go into my craft section, I'm sweating and nothing comes to mind except water to cool down. Aside from the heat, my little son has been super cranky, but happy to say he got his right top tooth in competely as of yesterday.

I will say that tooth was hard to come in...1 day it cut the gum a little on one side, 2nd day...it cut the gum a little more on the right side, and yesterday, the gum cut in the middle allowing the full tooth to finally show as one. It's been the hardest tooth to come in. The funny thing was, he got a third tooth on the bottom while we were still waiting for the top tooth to come in...now he has 5.

Back to the card....I was able to manage to get this one done.
Fun new stuff with the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder which coordinates with the Large Scallop Edgelits Die and new stamp set: World Treasures. Since I wasn't sure which color I wanted to do, I used my sponge daubers and added 3 colors to the feathers: Primose Petals, Summer Starfruit, and Midnight Muse. For the Bird, Chocolate Chip ink.

Added Baker's Twine in Lucky Limeade and added 1 Vintage Faceted Button with basic pearl on top. In addition added several Basic Pearls around. Stampin Dimensionals were used under the Peacock and under the retangle. Hope you Enjoy and have fun creating!!!

Mojo Monday 248 - Comfort Cafe & Apothecary Art

Another week at Mojo Monday, MOJO248, with another sketch. This week designed by Carole Burrage. Since it's the beggining of the month, it's contest week where you have a chance to win some Verse Stamps up to 7 winners max. Click here to go directly to the challenge.

Most importantly, have fun with the sketch. I was glad myself to work on a card after having a horrible week dealing with an ear infection and taking alot of meds. Therefore always nice to create something and now working on more.

Here is mine below:
This time around, I used Natural Composition Specialty paper as my base. It's so nice up close and gorgeous look that includes a raised embossed glossy patterns that is printed on heavy-weight natural paper

Once again, trying to challenge myself with different color combinations that I don't normally use, but the Regal collection is starting to be very fun. This time, it's Cajun Craze along with one of the new in-colors: Summer Starfruit. DSP is Comfort Cafe which goes so nicely with Early Espresso, one of my favorite colors.

Here is a close up of the Natural Composition with the embossed image. For the butterfly, I used the embosslit called: Beautiful Wings and added some Basic Pearls.

Other tools used to complete this card was Stampin Dimensionals under the center Labels Collection Framelit and under the Early Espresso retangle. Ribbon was 3/8" Stitched Satin in Summer Starfruit. Scallop Edge Border Punch and markers for coloring the center. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!

PPA137 - My Friend with Comfort Cafe

It's time for another wonderful challenge over at the Pals Paper Arts . This week they have a sketch design by the talented Margaret Moody which is darling and so there I went to figure out what to create with it.

If you would like to join the fun, click here and go directly to this fun challenge.
Here is mine below:
Back to playing with some new stuff again and new colors including Midnight Muse as my base cardstock for this 5x5 card. For the center, Summer Starfruit was used as the focal point and Raspberry Ripple for the 1 3/8" circle (upper right). For the sentiment, the set called: Loving Thoughts was a perfect fit inside the circle.

Don't you love this new ribbon and all the stitches? Here is a close up picture of the 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (Raspberry Ripple) along with the new In color Dahlias (Summer Starfruit)

I couldn't resist but to add a couple of little butterflies in Midnight Muse using the embosslit die called Beautiful Wings on top of the circle......while I wait to get the new butterfly punch.

This DSP, Comfort Cafe is just so versatile. It's getting to be one of my favorites along with the stamp set: My Friend. Once again, I used sponge daubers to create this look. (Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit). Stampin Dimensionals were used under both circles to pop it up just a little. Hope you Enjoy!!

Here is mine below:
I really love this new DSP paper called: Comfort Cafe. It works so well with a variety of colors such as one of the newest color cardstock called Summer Starfruit which is the center focus mat.

Also, finally...I got a chance to play with this stamp set called: My Friend. To get these results, I used sponge daubers onto the stamp image before stamping down onto Whisper White cardstock. Colors used were: Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit (all new in-colors). For the sentiment, I used the stamp set: Loving Thoughts

For the ribbon, I used 1/2" Steam Binding Ribbon (Baja Breeze) and for the button, I punched out a 1 1/4" circle from the DSP (Comfort Cafe) and adhered it to a clear button using Mod Podge . Therefore, giving it a matching button. For the embossed strip, I used the Tulip Frame folder with Baja Breeze cardstock to go against the Early Espresso.

Next I Have:
This is a simple easy to re-create card since this new DSP called: Floral District already has a beautiful print on it. Although the green is showing more bright in the picture than in real person (My camera). This is really a very nice DSP to work with and fun.

I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border in Whisper White, than embossed this beautiful flower from the new set called: Betsy's Blossoms using White on top of Pink Pirouette cardstock. Later I stamped the same image using Rich Razzleberry. Stampin Dimensionals were used in between.

For the sentiment, I used the stamp set: Fabulous Phrases along with Rich Razzleberry ink.

Now hop along for more inspiring ideas from Sandie Conner at Pretty Provisions, stop number 27 on the Pals New Catalog Blog Hop! Thanks for "hopping" by!
