Pals Blog Hop July 2013 - New In Colors 2013-2015

Thank you for joining us for the July Pals Blog Hop to celebrate the 2013-15 In Colors! Are you ready to see wonderful creations made with Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana? We all love to make these projects, we hope you enjoy viewing them.

You should have just left stop number 16 on the Pals Hop - Diane Roberts at Score at Four and a Quarter . If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

Here is mine below:
When looking for a sketch, I found this cute one over at Jen's website, The Deconstructed Sketch, sketch 105. The only thing I left out was the top ribbon and little tag since I forgot after I pieced everything together already, but I think it worked out okay.

Love these colors together, very calming and soothing and had to pull out this cute set: Flower Shop one more time to play around using the new color: Baked Brown Sugar and punched it out using the new Pansy Punch.

Hard to see maybe but used the Stripes embossing folder as my base using Baked Brown Sugar along with the Scallop Trim Border in Whisper White. The sentiment comes from the hostess set: Simply Sketched. Added some basic pearls in the center to finish it off.

Next is a little Candy Treat Card
I previously made one of these (small version), but wanted to re-create something card size (4.25" x 5.5") and love the bigger version. The sentiment comes from the set: Fabulous Phrases.

When you open the card and pull the little slider on the right hand side, the candy will come out without tearing up the front design. Here you can see the inside of the card. The ticket piece was from the set: That's a Ticket using Strawberry Slush ink along with the Ticket Duo Builder punch.

Cardstock used was Baked Brown Sugar and the Chevron embossing folder for the base. The center portion of the card has the new in-color Coastal Cabana and the new in-color DSP

Little flower is from the set: Papillon Potpourri along with new 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim in Strawberry Slush around the Circle Treat Cups and 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Whisper White in the middle.

Punches: Modern Label, Word Window, Elegant Butterfly, 1 3/8" circle, Ticket Duo Builder. As you can see from the side, lots of Stampin Dimensionals were used to pop up the center so the slider would  work.

The next stop is Kari Linder at Stampin' Essentials, stop number 18 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting – and I hope to see you next month!

Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track
Here is mine below:
I really love this new DSP paper called: Comfort Cafe. It works so well with a variety of colors such as one of the newest color cardstock called Summer Starfruit which is the center focus mat.

Also, finally...I got a chance to play with this stamp set called: My Friend. To get these results, I used sponge daubers onto the stamp image before stamping down onto Whisper White cardstock. Colors used were: Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit (all new in-colors). For the sentiment, I used the stamp set: Loving Thoughts

For the ribbon, I used 1/2" Steam Binding Ribbon (Baja Breeze) and for the button, I punched out a 1 1/4" circle from the DSP (Comfort Cafe) and adhered it to a clear button using Mod Podge . Therefore, giving it a matching button. For the embossed strip, I used the Tulip Frame folder with Baja Breeze cardstock to go against the Early Espresso.

Next I Have:
This is a simple easy to re-create card since this new DSP called: Floral District already has a beautiful print on it. Although the green is showing more bright in the picture than in real person (My camera). This is really a very nice DSP to work with and fun.

I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border in Whisper White, than embossed this beautiful flower from the new set called: Betsy's Blossoms using White on top of Pink Pirouette cardstock. Later I stamped the same image using Rich Razzleberry. Stampin Dimensionals were used in between.

For the sentiment, I used the stamp set: Fabulous Phrases along with Rich Razzleberry ink.

Now hop along for more inspiring ideas from Sandie Conner at Pretty Provisions, stop number 27 on the Pals New Catalog Blog Hop! Thanks for "hopping" by!

PPA101 - Celebrity Color Challenge - Summertime Blues

Aren't these colors beautiful together? The Pals Paper Arts is having their weekly challenge called PPA101 Summertime Blues with celebrity guest artist Lesley Croghan who created a beautiful card along with the rest of the design team to get you started. They are all very talented designers.

If you would like to play along, go their website by clicking here. It's always fun to join in.

Here is my card

I was excited to get started on this card, so I put it in my head the color challenge and after I finished the card, I went back to see the color challenge again and realized it said, "Not Quite Navy", while I focused on "Night of Navy", but other than that I managed to get the other colors right.

I used an older Mojo Monday sketch, week 175 as my inspiration to create this card.

So fun to work with this die called: Fun Flower, you can use one, two, or all of the flowers on this set. For the Flower, I used: Night of Navy, Marina Mist, and Bashful Blue. Also, I used a sponge dauber using Marina Mist Ink to add a little color around each flower.

For the sentiment, I used Night of Navy Ink and the stamp set called: Fabulous Phrases and added 2 basic rhinestones on each side of the sentiment. DSP pack was from the Subtles Patterned Series Paper Stack.

As always, feel free to email me if you have any questions on how I did something or what I used. Hope you Enjoy!!

Thank-you Card using Paisley Petals, Four Frames, and Butterfly

I haven't been feeling 100% the last few days, so I haven't posted in a couple of days, but today I'm doing better and have been wanting to get this card posted.

Now that I'm feeling better, I got hit this morning with technical difficulties getting the pictures to upload into the post, but finally after a few hours of trying to figure out "why" the pictures aren't loading, I found a different way to upload these so it made me happy that I can share the photos.....hopefully, they will fix the problem on uploading /inserting photos into a post.

Here is a simple thank-you card I made using a few stamp sets and a few punches. It's very nice to have stamp sets that coordinate with punches.....I love it!! This makes it so easy that it allows you to make a quick card...........just stamp stamp and punch punch!!

Happy Birthday with Love Letters and Fun Flower

Finally had time to pull out this gorgeous DSP paper called: Love Letters to make a Happy Birthday card for someone at work. Although the inside looks white, it's really Very Vanilla Cardstock, but my camera makes it look more like Whisper White.

The Bigz L Die Fun Flower gives any card just the right touch, especially the chance to create different looking flowers to match any card and a simple clean look. I added a little adornment in vanilla for the center of the flower. Try using any DSP for a print look to match the card. It's great!!

To make this card, I did cut away 1 1/4" from the front right hand side.....this comes in handy if you want your card to open differently.

I than used one of my favorite embossing folders called: Elegant Lines to emboss the square in the middle and added 3 little brads on the left hand side of the square. The mat pack comes in real handy to help you position where you want the brads to go.

Like always, I used stampin dimensionals not only under the flower, but used it under the sentiment and under the square middle. This way the card pops out just a little more at you. Hope you enjoy!!

Supplies Used:
  • Stamp Set - Fabulous Phrases (120501)CM (117002) W
  • Inks - Black (101179)
  • Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Black, So Saffron
  • DSP -Love Letter (117162)
  • Other - Stampin Dimensionals (104430),
  • Adornments (121879), Brads, Fun Flowers (121812)
  • Punches - Word Window Punch (119857)

Petal Pizzazz meets Lap of Luxury along with Fun Flower

Decided to focus on something simple and not to complicated so here is what I came up with. I used DSP Lap of Luxury which is being retired and now only available through June 30 or while supplies last.

Played around with the Bigz L Die Fun Flower and combined it with one of the images from the Petal Pizzazz stamp set, which is also retiring. This stamp set is so versatile and will also only be available while supplies last or June 30, so if you love this set and don't have it, now is the time to get it. Look at all of the cute images.
Update on baby news: No one ever told me that my belly was going to be this super tight. I already feel like I'm going to explode and don't understand how the body expands the way it does and so tight along with the baby kicking so hard.

One day, the baby gave me such a jolt, I thought it was a person who pushed me, but when I looked behind me, no one was there, little one was the culprit....must mean he is going to be an active one I assume, but so looking forward to his arrival.

Supplies Used:
  • Stamp Set - Petal Pizzazz (1113417), Fabulous Phrases (120501)CM (117002) W
  • Inks - Early Espresso (119670)
  • Cardstock - Whisper White, Early Espresso, Pink Pirouette
  • DSP - Lap of Luxury (1230436), Neutrals (117157)
  • Other - Stampin Dimensionals (104430), Brads (112533), Ribbon

PPA95 and SC333 - Brads, Punches, and Sentiment

Okay I know I did a card already for the PPA95 challenge, but as I mentioned in the previous post, I made 2 cards for this challenge. For this card I also used SC333 sketch from Splitcoaststampers.

On this card, I put extra focus on the brads challenge element and got to play around with several punches as you can see in this card.

Basically, all punches and just one little sentiment....... Just love this paper!!

This card is using one of the newest punches that came out this year in the Occasions Mini Catalog called: Blossom Petals Punch and matching stamp set: Build a Blossom along with 6 other of my favorite punches:

New postage punch (3 squares at the bottom), Modern Label & Window Label Punch (sentiment), and Boho Punch (3 flowers at bottom), and finally Corner Scallop Trim and Border Scallop Trim punch for the square border.

Last but not least added brads to each area of the card along with sponge daubing around the flowers, added a sentiment, and used white gel pen to add a few dots in the center of the flower.

Supplies Used:
  • Stamp Set: Fabulous Phrases - CM (120501)
  • Inks: Soft Suede (115657), Marina Mist (119668)
  • Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Marina Mist, Early Espresso
  • DSP: Elegant Soiree (117163)
  • Punches: Modern Label (119849), Word Window (119857), Postage Stamp Punch (122344), BoHo Blossoms (119858), Scallop Trim Corner (118870), Scallop Trim Border (118402)
