Fun Flower for the Day using Brights

Played around with one of the newest dies this year called: Fun Flower
It's so cute that I ran it through an embossing folder to add texture to it...only on the blue flowers and left the designer paper plain since it was already decorated.

Added embossing texture (Dots) to the background of the whisper white (close up pic)

As you can see, I used bright colors for this card and love how the pink and blue go together. At the end, I added a sentiment on the lower right hand side.

    Supplies Used:
    • Stamp Set - Something to Celebrate CM (121955)...Hostess set
    • Inks - Pacifica Point (111837)
    • Cardstock - Whisper White, Black, Melon Mambo
    • DSP - Brights (119740)
    • Other - Stampin Dimensionals (104430),  Adorments (121879)
    • Bigz L Die - Fun Flower (121812)
    • Punches - Modern Label Punch (119849), Word Window Punch (119857)

Four Frames with Paisley Petals

Decided to keep playing with the New
Doily Triple Layer Punch and Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.
Designer Series Paper used was: Paisley Petals

Really enjoyed the color combo of adding Early Espresso and Pumpkin Pie with this paper.

Also can't get enough of using Stampin Dimensional. I used it from the base color of pumkin pie on up through the top layers. Hope you can see that in the top and middle pictures.

Used a blending pen to color in the leaves and flowers on the frame and added some brads. Sponge daubed the top and sides of the embossed section using Marina Mist.

Last but not least used the new stamp set: Bold Blossom for the sentiment (only the thank-you word)

Supplies Used:
  • Stamp Set - Four Frames CM (123442), Bold Blossom CM (122232)
  • Inks - Early Espresso (119670), Marina Mist (119668)

PPA95 and SC333 - Brads, Punches, and Sentiment

Okay I know I did a card already for the PPA95 challenge, but as I mentioned in the previous post, I made 2 cards for this challenge. For this card I also used SC333 sketch from Splitcoaststampers.

On this card, I put extra focus on the brads challenge element and got to play around with several punches as you can see in this card.

Basically, all punches and just one little sentiment....... Just love this paper!!

This card is using one of the newest punches that came out this year in the Occasions Mini Catalog called: Blossom Petals Punch and matching stamp set: Build a Blossom along with 6 other of my favorite punches:

New postage punch (3 squares at the bottom), Modern Label & Window Label Punch (sentiment), and Boho Punch (3 flowers at bottom), and finally Corner Scallop Trim and Border Scallop Trim punch for the square border.

Last but not least added brads to each area of the card along with sponge daubing around the flowers, added a sentiment, and used white gel pen to add a few dots in the center of the flower.

Supplies Used:
  • Stamp Set: Fabulous Phrases - CM (120501)
  • Inks: Soft Suede (115657), Marina Mist (119668)
  • Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Marina Mist, Early Espresso

Here is the card I made based on the sketch Monday Mojo 192 and was able to use one of my favorite DSP, called: Elegant Soiree and stamp set: Elements of Style.

I love neutral colors, very versatile and great for any occassion.

Used stampin dimensionals to pop up the bird above the ribbon. (close up pic above) and sponge daubers to distress the outside of the card in soft suede.

Other Supplies Used:
  •  Stamp Set: Elements of Style - CM (120045)
  • Inks: Early Espresso (119670) , Soft Suede (115657), Marina Mist (119668)

PPA95 - Elements of Style - Brads

Here is the challenge:

Brads are the Element of Style this week at Pals Paper Arts.  Metallic, fabric or glittery, brads are a simple yet effective element to add to your card.  They can quietly balance a design or put an exclamation point on it!  Any way you use them brads are always fasten-ating!

To Join the challenge and play go to Pals Paper Art by clicking here

Just love the new punches. I got a chance to use all 3 new punches on this card. The flower on the right-hand side was made by combining the 2 punches together our Doily Triple Layer Punch and Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.

Both punches are very versatile and can be combined to create different looks. Than I took our other latest new punch called: Postage Stamp for the sentiment in the middle.

Used one of the embossing folders called: Finial Press to add a little bit of texture on one side and of course added brads for the challenge. The middle was popped up using dimensinals along with the flower. (see top pic side view).

I did 2 cards for this challenge, but was only able to post up one for now (battery in camera went down last night) and only got the photo of this one....hopefully get the other one up this week.

Supplies Used:
  • Stamp Set - Cute by the Inch (Hostess set which can be earned for Free)
  • Cardstock - Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede

Flower Layering - Petal Pizzaz

I love this paper and had to do another card with it. Therefore, I made another simple card that I did with the flower layering of 2 different sets. Love the way the flower pops up on the card using stampin dimensionals.

For the layering of the flower, I used stampin dimensionals for each punch out when putting it together to give it a 3D look. After that, I used the embossing folder Finial Press to add more texture in the middle of the card.

Supplies Used:
  • Stamp Set: Petal Pizzazz (113417), Punch Potpourri (Hostess)
  • Inks: Rich Razzelberry (115658), Cherry Cobbler (119669)
  • Cardstock: Rich Razzelberry, Always Artichoke, Whisper White
  • DSP: Springtime Vintage (121782)
  • Punches: Scallop Punch (119854), BoHo Blossoms (119858)
  • Other: Rhinestones (119246), Stampin Dimensionals (104430)

PPA 94 - A Sketch Challenge - Circles

Here is the challenge:
It's a sketch challenge this week at Pals Paper Arts! Margaret Moody's wonderful design has us going in circles this week!  Hope you stick around and put your own spin on it!

To Join the challenge and play go to Pals Paper Art by clicking here
.

Played around today with our new punches from the Summer Mini Catalog called: Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer. You can do do many things with this punch.

As I was playing around with the layout, I placed about 1/2 of one blossom punch under the middle circle to see what kind of decorative look I would get and ended up loving it.

Therefore, I punched 2 blossom bouquets in black and placed (one on each side) and than used a 1" inch circle in whisper white to place under the blossom punch as a contrast to the black.

For the top and bottom portion of the card, I used one of the embossing folders to add a little more to the card in whisper white.

Supplies Used:
  • Stamp Set - Simple Friendship (115657)
  • Cardstock - Whisper White, Black
  • DSP - Neutrals (117157)
  • Other - Stampin Dimensionals (104430), Rhinestones (119246)
  • Punches - Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (122464), 1" circle (119868), Eyelet Border Punch (119853)
  • Embossing Folder - Finial Press (115963)
Enjoy!!

Monday MOJO191

I got a chance and had some time to play yesterday on one of the sketches from the Monday Mojo 191. The good thing was I finished it, but was not able to post it up.

Instead of posting it up, I was working on the blog to get it started and by the time I got it up and going, it was super late.

At least now, I have a place to post going forward the artwork from different challenges and hope to inspire all to join on the fun.

I decided to experiment with layering and came up with this cute little flower on the right side by using stampin dimensionals. Each layer has dimensionals and makes it look 3-D in person. Topped it off by adding a little tiny rhinestone.

Hopefully you can see the layering in the (first pic).

Supplies Used:
  • Stamp Set: Petal Pizzazz (113417), Punch Potpourri (Hostess), Word Play now on Sale (120651)......30% off...offer ends May 31, 2011.
  • Inks: Soft Suede (115657), Cherry Cobbler (119669)
  • Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz
  • DSP: Neutrals (117157)
  • Punches: Fancy Flower (118073), Scallop Punch 2 3/8" (118874), BoHo Blossoms (119858)

PPA 87 - Technique Challenge Punches

Here is the challenge: (Again, behind on posting) -
this challenge is now closed

This posting is more for inspiration

Pals Paper Arts challenges you to create a design using a punch - or two - or three!  Build a character, frame a sentiment or simply adorn your edges - the possibilities are endless!  Punch it up at PPA!

Tip From: (Pals Paper Arts):  If your punch seems dull, try punching through aluminum foil to sharpen the edges.

This card uses several punches and wished I had the blog up earlier to keep the posting  more with the current week challenges at the Pals Paper Arts.

Fun card to make. The little purses were popped up using stampin dimensionals. One of my favorite things to use on cards.

I have seen many purse styles on the internet using SU punches and loved the look with the Round Tab Punch and high handles that I saw used in Patti's MacLeith card, which can be seen by clicking here.

So I just had to make a card for myself since I love purses when the challenge was given. Here is my version for the challenge, shown in the picture above.

Supplies Used:
  • Punches - Round Tab (119864), Large Oval (119855), Small Oval (119863), Dotted Scallop Ribbon (119275), Itty Bitty Punches (118309)
  • DSP - Springtime Vintage (121782)
  • Cardstock - Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Black
  • Ribbon - Very Vanilla Satin (117291)
  • Embossing Folder: Finial Press (115963)

Easter Card - using Kim Score's Sliding Pop Up Tutorial

It was Easter Time and I wanted to find something different to do when I came across a cute tutorial made by Kim Score and figured "oh that's cute...I have to try it".

Therefore, here is what I came up with for Easter based on her step by step tutorial for the Sliding Pop Up Card. She is amazing in her creations.

If you would like to see the tutorial you can click here to view it on You Tube.

Again, she is amazing and I just love her website called Paper Punch Addiction which can be viewed by clicking here or by clicking on her logo on the right side view bar.

For the Easter Bunny, I used:
  • Ears - (2) large ovals and (2) small ovals
  • Head - 1 3/8" circle Punch
  • Eyes and Nose - (3) circle punches from the Owl Punch
  • Cheeks - (2) 5/8" circle punch
