PPA170 & MOJO309 - Lacy & Lovely

The Pals Paper Arts is having a color challenge which I wanted to try so I combined it using the Mojo Monday 309 sketch desgined by Julee Tilman. If you would like to see all the wonderful inspirations, click here to go directly to the PPA170 challenge. The most important thing is to have fun with any challenge or challenges in this case.

Here is my card:
Here I used one of my favorite stamp sets called: Lacy & Lovely and started the background with one of the newest embossing folders called Stylish Stripes from the new Holiday Catalog. For the paper, I used the Regal DSP for the Crushed Curry and used Early Espresso cardstock for the matting behind it.

For the side flags, I used the Hearts Flutter Framelits and added some 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (Midnight Muse). Also, here is a close up shot of the embossing folder in the background which I absolutely love.

For the center, I used the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits, than stamped the image using Midnight Muse and fuzzy cut, but before adding it on top of the doily, I added Stampin Dimensionals. From there, I stamped another flower and used my 1" circle and popped it on using dimensionals again. Added basic pearl to add finishing touches.

For the sentiment, I used a hostess stamp set called: Express Yourself which has a variety of words and perfect for any occasions along with the Word Window Punch. What do you think about today's card? Let me know, I would love to hear from you.

PPA166 & Mojo Monday304 - A Butterfly Greeting

The Pals Paper Arts is having a color challenge, so combined it using the Mojo Monday 304 sketch desgined by Julie Tilman which just finished yesterday to see what I could come up with. If you would like to see all the wonderful inspirations, click here to go directly to the PPA166 challenge. The most important thing is to have fun with any challenge.

Here is my card:
I've been wanting to play with the hexagons for quite a while and when I saw Wanda's Cullen card using the same sketch, I thought let's give it a try. Here I used DSP from the In-colors, Neutral, and Brights packs to pull out each of the colors from the challenge and started punching away with the new hexagon punch.

For the main focus, I used the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits using Strawberry Slush cardstock and for the sentiment, I pulled out a new stamp set called: Wetlands. In addition, I got to use the Texture Impressions Embossing Folder which has been sitting around for months and now in use.

The butterflies came from the set: Papillon Potpourri and used the matching butterfly punches to pop them out, Bitty Butterfly and Butterfly regular punch. Last but not least, Basic Rhinestones were used in the middle of each one. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!

MOJO301 & CDT250 - Simply Sketched

Here I used the sketch from Mojo Monday, MOJO301, created by Julee Tilman and in addition joining the challenge over at Color Throwdown in celebrating fifth anniversary. I wish I would have be able to post this sooner for the MOJO challenge, but my Aunt had passed away and been quite on the sad side and only now catching up on items I needed to get done.

I know this card is on the bright side, especially with the passing, but was done prior. Here is the card below and will keep it on the short side today.
This card is fairly simply to make and is using the stamp set: Simply Sketched along with the colors of the challenge over at Color Throwdown, CDT250. If you would like to view all the other great inspiration, click here to go directly to the challenge. It's quite a celebration!!

Here I used prisma colored pencils to color in the flower and stem. Used a black pen to add some dotted lines around the oval. Grabbed the other stamp set: Papillon Potpourri and punched out a little butterfly using the bitty butterfly punch. The sentiment was inked up using Soft Suede ink and popped up using Stampin Dimensionals. Embossing folder: Stripes. Hope you enjoy and most of all have fun creating!!

Pals Blog Hop July 2013 - New In Colors 2013-2015

Thank you for joining us for the July Pals Blog Hop to celebrate the 2013-15 In Colors! Are you ready to see wonderful creations made with Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana? We all love to make these projects, we hope you enjoy viewing them.

You should have just left stop number 16 on the Pals Hop - Diane Roberts at Score at Four and a Quarter . If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

Here is mine below:
When looking for a sketch, I found this cute one over at Jen's website, The Deconstructed Sketch, sketch 105. The only thing I left out was the top ribbon and little tag since I forgot after I pieced everything together already, but I think it worked out okay.

Love these colors together, very calming and soothing and had to pull out this cute set: Flower Shop one more time to play around using the new color: Baked Brown Sugar and punched it out using the new Pansy Punch.

Hard to see maybe but used the Stripes embossing folder as my base using Baked Brown Sugar along with the Scallop Trim Border in Whisper White. The sentiment comes from the hostess set: Simply Sketched. Added some basic pearls in the center to finish it off.

Next is a little Candy Treat Card
I previously made one of these (small version), but wanted to re-create something card size (4.25" x 5.5") and love the bigger version. The sentiment comes from the set: Fabulous Phrases.

When you open the card and pull the little slider on the right hand side, the candy will come out without tearing up the front design. Here you can see the inside of the card. The ticket piece was from the set: That's a Ticket using Strawberry Slush ink along with the Ticket Duo Builder punch.

Cardstock used was Baked Brown Sugar and the Chevron embossing folder for the base. The center portion of the card has the new in-color Coastal Cabana and the new in-color DSP

Little flower is from the set: Papillon Potpourri along with new 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim in Strawberry Slush around the Circle Treat Cups and 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Whisper White in the middle.

Punches: Modern Label, Word Window, Elegant Butterfly, 1 3/8" circle, Ticket Duo Builder. As you can see from the side, lots of Stampin Dimensionals were used to pop up the center so the slider would  work.

The next stop is Kari Linder at Stampin' Essentials, stop number 18 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting – and I hope to see you next month!

Monday MOJO300 - Flower Shop and Label Love

Another week at Mojo Monday, MOJO300 and "WOW" what a terrific challenge this week. Not only it's the beginning of the month, contest week, but Julee Tilman is celebrating her 300th post and several companies are joining her to celebrate. In addition, so many inspiration cards to get started and already over 250 entries.

This time around, I got to my MOJO sooner than later as you can tell, it's not Sunday which is my normal posting day for Mojo Monday. You can click here to view the wonderful cards already made with this sketch.
Here is mine below:
Pulled out this new DSP, Modern Medley and love it!! This is one to stock up on. At first, I thought to keep it white and black throughout the entire card, but than changed my mind and added a bit of color. This one is one of the new in-colors called: Coastal Cabana.

Here I used the Window Frames Collection (framelits) and added 1/2 strip of black along the center before added the sentiment which by the way is from the set: Label Love. The get the black in the center, you can either use your markers and or re-stamp the image and cut along the area you want and piece it onto the original image. Added paper piercing afterwards.

For the flower, I used the beautiful new Pansy Punch and matching stamp set called: Flower Shop. As a bundle you can save an additional 15%. For the flower, I water colored 2 of them and used the aqua painter with the new in-color: Strawberry Slush and a Stampin Dimensionals in between to pop it up.

For the center of the flower, I used my prima pencil and added some yellow and top it off with some basic rhinestones. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!

PPA161 - Mosaic Madness

The Pals Paper Arts is having a sketch challenge created by the talented Margaret Moody, PPA161 and I wanted to give it a try. If you would like to see all the wonderful inspirations, click here to go directly to the challenge. The most important thing is to have fun with any challenge.

This was a fun card, full of 3/4" Chevron New Ribbon in the following colors: Crushed Curry, Wisteria Wonder, Pumkin Pie, and Pear Pizzazz. Cardstock for the center 3x3 is Early Espresso. I've been wanting to make something with this cute stamp set: Mosaic Madness and this was a perfect sketch to try it out.

For the little corner piece, I used the set: A Round Array and stamped it in Early Espresso. Also used some Baker's Twine and Stampin Dimenionals to pop up the Mosaics. Card size is 5x5. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!!
